This month's award goes to...
Tabby Cameron has demonstrated a selfless and committed approach to volunteering within Atrium, getting involved in helping not simply the Cambridge Heath Sixth Form mentoring programme during 2015-16, but continuing during the summer to assist her mentee with UCAS applications through extensive emailed communications, and seeking to assist her mentee with an application to the Lloyd’s bursary fund, which will help her to study medicine at one of the best Universities. With her focused, yet relaxed and witty approach, Tabby has made a real connection with her student, and her creative support is making a difference to her mentee, a student who has never left London, in achieving her dream.
“It’s been great to see the positive outcomes that the Business Mentoring Scheme has on the local Tower Hamlets Community. I’ve personally enjoyed helping source relevant work experience and assisting with cover letters and a CV. I am also really pleased that I successfully encouraged my mentee to apply for Universities outside of London, which they would not have possibly considered and to apply for the Lloyd’s University Bursary Programme.
Tabby’s mentee from Cambridge Heath Partnership said:
“I just wanted to thank you for all that you have done! You have helped me with tasks even my teachers didn't, sacrificing your own lunch times. You also motivated me to get tutors which I am thankful for (now I am actually ahead of my class mates instead of being confused). Once again, thank you for the amazing opportunity and inspiration. If you dont mind, would it be possible for us to stay in touch as I think that would be great!”
