Sadia Ahmed Wins 21st Tower Hamlets Public Speaking Competition

Sadia Ahmed from Swanlea School is the 21st winner of the Tower Hamlets Public Speaking Competition, the final of which was held at Lloyd’s headquarters on Wednesday 23rd March 2016. Run by Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership (THEBP) in association with Lloyd’s Community Programme (LCP), this year’s competition saw over 200 Year 10 students from all over the borough take part. Lloyd’s of London Contributes Towards Primary School Trips

22 Tower Hamlets schools were each awarded a £350 Lloyd’s of London travel bursary towards a school trip of their choice. The trips help develop the children’s academic, social and emotional learning by introducing them to a new environment and broadening their horizons. Over 1000 pupils visited a range of locations from the University of Cambridge to the Gorsefield Rural Studies Centre. Continue reading
